Position Summary

We have an immediate opening for a Help Desk Technician at our corporate headquarters in Sparks, NV to handle incoming calls and support remote sites. This is an exciting, entry-level opportunity for a candidate with a working knowledge of the IT industry, a strong desire to learn and grow and a knack for trouble shooting. This position will work on support requests from employees experiencing various issues with their computers and other peripheral equipment. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and work order tracking tools as well as required the individual provide hands-on at the desk top level.

Principle Accountabilities
Works on problems of moderate scope with varying complexity where the analysis of the situation, business process or data requires thorough review and investigation.
Ability to follow a troubleshooting methodology to identify the symptoms, scope, cause, and solution to IT issues.
Effectively communicating status of reported problems to all necessary parties.
Makes recommendations for business process solutions; Exercises some judgment with consideration of existing system configuration, business processes, defined policies and procedures to determine appropriate courses of action and solutions.
Modifies, reviews, tests, documents and implements new / enhanced information systems.
Gathers information from clients regarding business problems.
Analyzes client information and defines business requirements.
Works with clients to prepare system design specifications.
Helps in the creation of development of project plans.
Regular participation in design reviews.
Exercises solid judgment with consideration of existing system functionality, business processes, defined policies and procedures to determine appropriate courses of action and solutions.
Develops action plans for self; Looks for and takes advantage of opportunities for improvement.
Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and self-directed individual who possess a strong working knowledge of basic computer hardware, including Desktops, Laptops, Printers, networks, etc. Technologies certification is a plus. Additional requirements include:

Desired Technical Skills
Bachelor’s degree BSCIS/BSCS/ BSCE or relevant experience
Working knowledge of requirements gathering methodologies and processes
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop systems
Demonstrated experience working in small project teams
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving.
Experienced at developing training materials for sales and customer use.
Prior Help desk experience is a plus.
Ability to absorb and retain information quickly.
Strong attention to detail.
People Skills
The ability to present information in a user-friendly language.
Exceptional customer service orientation.
Experience working in a team-oriented collaborative environment
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent telephone communication skills.
