Lead Network Administrator

The Lead Network Administrator will serve as a primary point of contact for network and IT-based initiatives within the organization. The primary responsibilities of the Lead Network Administrator include designing and building network and cloud infrastructure and systems and developing and maintaining systems, applications, security, and network configurations, including firewall, Exchange, Active Directory and 365 management. Tasks will also involve ongoing collaboration and communication with internal teams, outside vendors and management personnel. The successful candidate will be a skilled troubleshooter with the ability to take ownership and build solutions, as well as oversee and manage enterprise-wide projects.

Objectives of this Role

  • Lead projects to transform and migrate on prem systems to cloud services
  • Design, build and manage essential IT operations, including applications, email systems, servers, switches, firewalls, LANs, WANs, and network segments
  • Research and own major IT projects to best support ITS’ company goals
  • Delegate project tasks to team members, coordinate project planning and deliverables, and guide projects to successful implementations
  • Oversee and manage status meetings to ensure tasks stay on schedule
  • Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, and resource monitoring
  • Guide implementations of new tools and processes
  • Recommend and apply best practices that balance IT and security efficiency with employee effectiveness to meet business needs

  • Experience with Exchange, Active Directory and Azure AD
  • Experience with Microsoft and Office 365
  • Experience monitoring and managing firewall configurations
  • Strong analytical, organizational, research, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT field or equivalent experience
  • Preferred certifications: Network+, Security+, Windows Desktop, Windows Server, Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft 365, AWS Cloud Practitioner / Solutions Architect, CISSP
  • Experience with Windows Enterprise security, systems administration, and PowerShell
  • Knowledge of SharePoint
  • Knowledge of SOC2 and recurring system audits
  • Experience with vulnerability and patch management
  • Experience with Splunk, Tenable and Desktop Central a bonus
