UX Designer (Remote)

Job Description

This position is part of the Global team; the main responsibility is to create user-centric designs rooted in user experience principles, to generate impactful customer journeys that support strategic marketing efforts. The manager is looking for a skilled UX Designer who can assist with the follow responsibilities.

  • Create concepts, mockups, wireframes, and layouts that lead to an intuitive digital user experience for various digital tactics
  • Design and create layouts and user journeys for a wide range of devices including mobile
  • Leverage user behaviors and research to define customer journeys and interactions
  • Use front-end programming to create prototypes and bring designs interactions to life
  • Work closely with the development and content teams
  • Lead and manage user testing for ESAB’s digital tactics and platforms
  • Collaborate with the Digital Strategy Director with the ongoing education within ESAB on user experience principles

Education Requirements

  • Relevant university degree within design, development, human-computer interaction or marketing
  • Technical Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and XD
  • Strong knowledge of front-end programming languages that include HTML, CSS, jQuery, and JavaScript
  • Strong familiarity with tools and software used for UX design, development, and testing
  • Knowledge of programming languages like PHP, .NET, Java, and ColdFusion a plus
  • Welding experience is nice to have, but not needed

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of UX design experience focused on web and mobile
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating UX design, principles and front-end development work for various digital tactics and digital channels
  • Exceptional design skills, production value, and attention to detail
  • Strong ability to clearly communicate ideas and research to team
  • Knowledge about user experience principles and methodologies
  • Knowledge about the key metrics that define a successful user experience
  • Experience leading and managing user testing a plus
  • Experience working within open-source and enterprise CMS a plus
  • Experience with freehand and digital illustration a plus
