Job Description

Technical Project Manager Federal Voting Assistance Program

100% remote, may need to go to the Mark Center on rare occasions if the customer desires

The candidate will be responsible for managing all technical aspects of the Federal Voting Assistance Program's (FVAP) cloud infrastructure and web application


  • Working with the government customer to translate feature requests into actionable items for the development team
  • Generating monthly status reports
  • Troubleshooting issues to create actionable bug-fix tasks for the development team
  • Applying OS updates to all systems in the environment.
  • Deploying new versions of the FVAP web application to production
  • Managing and resolving Nessus findings on all systems in the environment
  • Working with CDN provider to implement policy improvements when necessary and monitor/document malicious traffic
  • Creating, assigning, and managing Jira tasks for the team
  • Assisting with testing of new features and bug fixes to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Ensuring STIGs are implemented on RHEL 7/8 and MySQL databases and any future technology deployed in the environment

Required Skills

  • 10+ years overall technical infrastructure operations experience with an emphasis on cloud infrastructure, Linux systems administration, system hardening (STIGs or CIS Benchmarks), and web infrastructure hosting (3-Tier Architecture, TLS/SSL certificate management, MySQL administration, Tomcat administration)
  • 5+ years of overall experience with AWS services including VPCs, Security Groups, EC2, EBS, S3, Classic and Application Load Balancers, RDS, Certificate Manager, EFS, Cloud Trail, AWS Client VPN, AWS SSO, AWS Directory Services, and Cloud Watch
  • Prior Software Development Project Management or Lead experience
  • 5+ years of Linux administration experience
  • Jira knowledge/experience
  • Basic Windows Server administration experience
  • 4+ years of production Tomcat administration experience; preferably hosting public facing custom Java applications.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies for application development
  • MySQL database experience (capable of integrating AWS Directory Services and AWS RDS MySQL for authentication; log management; understanding database schemas and basic SQL queries)
  • Ansible
  • Ability to pass a federal background check; US Citizenship Required


  • Familiarity with RMF, NIST 800-53 control implementation, and Assessment & Authorization processes
  • Experience supporting DoD projects
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional
