Position Description

Position Title:

Java Software Developer


Ability to obtain DHS Suitability/Public Trust; Will cage higher DoD Clearances; US Citizenship required due to clearance


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline related to the specific skill desired, experience will be accepted in lieu of degree requirements

Years of Experience:

5+ years, required

Project Information

  • Full Stack Java Development experience, required
  • The candidate should have experience developing, creating, and modifying computer applications software or specialized utility programs that has a large user group
  • The candidate has experience analyzing user needs and can develop software solutions based off that feedback
  • The candidate has experience with IT modernization and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Projects
  • The candidate has experience with designing software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. May analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team
  • The candidate can work on their own with limited direction but can also work with a cross functional team
  • The candidate has some experience supervising multi-vendor software development projects and a diverse group of computer programmers

  • Tools used:Atlassian suite: Jira - development tickets
  • Front End Development - HTML, JavaScript, CSS
  • Back End Development - Ruby, Python, PHP
  • Version control systems like Git and GitHub in a continuous integration and continuous deployment environment (CI/CD)
  • APIs like REST and SOAP as well as protocol like HTTP
  • Database storage solutions like JSON, SQL, and NoSQL
  • Graphic design and visual communications skills
  • Apache or nginx server
  • Confluence- maintain information
  • ServiceNow- request for service (how tickets are created by ELIS users)
  • GitHub for code repository and for deployments
  • Jenkins pipeline
  • REST
  • Developers will need to deploy changes in Demo environments. In those environments, this application contains JMS listeners and REST endpoints used by system-to-system communication
  • Developers will work with Web Services to provide ingestion of XML payloads representing cases
