Carousel Bay is seeking a hardworking, and qualified Senior Manager of Purchasing & Inventory to join our growing Procurement team in Oakland, CA, as part of the management team at the manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will be self-driven with a passion to work in a startup environment and to create new processes.
Meet regularly with representatives of customer supply chain and buying organizations to review forecasts and supply chain performance
Utilize sales data, inventory, promotional calendar, and strong analytics to develop item level forecasting and replenishment plans for all packaging across multiple brands
Manage all supplier relationships ensuring on time and accurate production and delivery
Collaborate with the Manufacturing, Planning, and Marketing on launching new products and packaging for e-commerce and wholesale customers
Optimize inventory levels and tracking across multiple distribution centers to meet customer, operational, product, and financial/accounting goals
Solve supply issues to minimize disruptions to customer service
Collaborate with Accounting on inventory reconciliation and adjustments
Collaborate with Finance on inventory cash flow projections and planning
Collaborate with multiple Manufacturing facilities on inventory levels and needs.
Use and help implement CA required Seed to Sale tracking software (METRC) to capture all cannabis product on hand and movement of it in and out of each cannabis license type
Source all packaging with strong communication and negotiation skills to lower price points & shorten lead times.
Counter Source current packaging to constantly improve quality & costs
Problem solve and escalate supply and forecast issues
Work directly with QC Manager as a liaison between the vendors to work through any quality control issues
Manage a team of ~5 hourly employees

BA/BS in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain
4+ years experience in inventory planning or a related function
Strong quantitative background (experience in corporate planning, procurement, supply chain, etc.)
Previous supervisory experience
Advanced Excel modeling skills (Macros, vlookup, pivot tables, conditional formulas, etc.)
Interest in the cannabis industry / working in a startup environment
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a high level of integrity
Inventory/Supply Chain Planning experience
Experience working with manufacturing / in a production environment
MRP/ERP experience (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
CPG, Pharma, or wholesale experience
