Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of important accounting functions along with being the primary Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable contact for ISEP.


Principal Relationships

External: Banks, Foreign currency firms, Audit firm, Governmental agencies, Vendors, Consultants, ISEP Member organizations, Students

Internal: VP of Finance, Senior Accountant, ISEP Team Members



Key Job Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payables: Full responsibility except for ISEP-Direct wire payments. Processing of Accounts Payables weekly including researching and contacting vendors regarding problems or disputes with vendors or bills.
  • Collections on scheduled invoice runs. Assist the collections efforts for delinquencies with the following invoice runs: Annual Membership Dues, Application Fees, Acceptance Fees, ISEP Direct Program Fees
  • Cash Receipts: Posting of all cash receipts into our EMS, AMS and accounting system.
  • Maintenance of a few general ledger accounts (possibly more accounts in the future): Refunds payable, General receivables, Pre-paid expenses
  • Monthly work: Upkeep of depreciation schedule, Upkeep of two amortization schedules
  • Credit Card Monitoring: Monthly download of the credit card transactions and back up receipts. Weekly notification of outstanding charges to the credit card holders for timely submissions.
  • Events Accounting: A variety of duties including invoicing, collections, postings on the registration system, issuance of receipts, compilation of registered participants and other lists, etc.
  • Grant Accounting: Post grant expenses, release from restricted net assets, and record revenue.
  • Assisting VP of Finance with preliminary forecasting spreadsheet work
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA, Accounting, Business or Finance
  • 2 to 4 years' experience in non-profit accounting
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Microsoft Word
  • Excel
  • Outlook
  • Sage Intacct experience highly desirable
