Job Description

We are looking to add a Laboratory Operations Technician I to our Genetics Lab Team, position end date to be determined. The Laboratory Operations Technician I is responsible for providing support in all aspects of data collection and operation of the clinical lab by following company protocols and complying with applicable regulations and industry standards.

Core Responsibilities Include:  

  • Receives and accessions clinical samples with limited guidance. 
  • Assists in maintaining QC records for the department as mandated by regulating authorities.
  • Assists in development, streamlining and documenting laboratory workflows.
  • Works on teams to improve sample workflow processes, update LIMS, and/or assist development scientists when needed.
  • Maintains laboratory equipment and performs PMs, such as ACT5 diff analyzer, Qiacube, and the like.
  • Performs ordering of supplies in NAV and maintains consumable inventory level.
  • Enters data into LIMS or other databases, including daily monitoring of pending logs.
  • Assists Clinical Trial management with data reconciliation, queries, and sample management.
  • Maintains sample management physically and within LIMS.   

You Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 0-2 years’ experience in a laboratory environment.  Continuing education, and/or relevant certification is beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory equipment such as pipets and centrifuges is beneficial.
  • Proficient computer skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new software programs.
  • Evidence of Covid-19 vaccination
