Grant Specialist

Summary:

§  Responsible for the overall development of grant proposals and applications for funding and serves as the primary grant writer for the organization working in collaboration with the INPEACE CEO and INPEACE Grant Team.  Supports all research needs for grant development and as needed for program professional development.   

Duties & Responsiblities:

§  Seeks and secures new and renewal grant opportunities.

§  Reviews grant Requests for Proposals for alignment and relevance with program operations and priorities. 

§  Conducts and analysis of funding opportunities and provides a summary of options to CEO for consideration.

§  Serves as lead grant writer on funding applications, unless otherwise appointed by the CEO.

§  Conducts necessary research to ensure a robust package of literary and evidential support for the program rationale and approach. 

§  Proof-reads and edits all narrative portions composed by other members of the grant team and ensures a consistent flow throughout the entire grant package. 

§  Ensures that numbers and deliverables are consistent, manageable, and approved by the CEO. 

§  Works collaboratively with grant team to coordinate composition of grant application sections and ensures completion of full application. 

§  Serves as the primary contact for grants as appointed. 

§  Establishes relationships with funding program officers.  May work with funders to discuss proposal modifications. 

§  Works with team to ensure on-time submittal of grant reports and requested materials. 

§  Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

§   Bachelor’s degree

§  5 years writing experience

§  Experience with research and data

Skills and Knowledge:

§  Excellent communication, writing, and organization skills

§  Strong research abilities

§  Ability to independently compose a full grant proposal

§  Self-starter that is able to function independently.

§  Works well in a team setting

§  Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, requests, and responsibilities. 

§  Self-motivated and consistently completes work on-time and with quality.

Preferred Experience:

§  Master’s degree

§  7+ years of proven experience working with projects requiring deep research, grant development, and writing tasks.
