Managed Services Engineer

INNOVEX is looking for a technical representative responsible for client care and maintenance of information technology equipment. A Managed Services Engineer delivers the high quality consultation and technical solutions while also demonstrating superior professionalism.

Qualifications:

The Managed Services Engineer is responsible for mostly back office and remote support of our existing client base with onsite as required. The Engineer must have at least 5 years of relevant IT experience to be considered. The Engineer must be customer service focused and detail oriented to be successful. The engineer must have a working knowledge of the following technologies:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and Higher – Microsoft Certifications a Plus
  • Microsoft Exchange 2010 and Higher
  • O365 – Exchange Online
  • VMware vSphere 5.0 and higher – VCP is a Plus
  • Microsoft Hyper-V 2008 and Higher
  • One or more SAN technologies – NetApp a Plus
  • Citrix XenApp a Plus
  • Intermediate Networking and Firewall methodologies and hands-on experience
  • Windows Desktop OS – Windows 7 and Higher

A 4-year degree in computer technology is preferable

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Support
    • Handle customer’s technical issues and concerns on a daily basis via telephone, email or onsite
    • Primary contact for all client technical consultation
    • Report any issues requiring escalation to the Director of Technology
    • Provide escalation as necessary to technical vendor
    • Demonstrate superior professionalism in both communication and appearance
    • Monitor email and phone for client communication and respond in a timely manner Maintain up to date records of customer technical information as it relates to servers, applications, infrastructure and remote support instructions
    • Be on time for client visits and phone calls

  • Technical Support
    • Diagnose and Repair at an expert level for issues relating to desktops, servers, network infrastructure, operating systems and information security
    • Diagnose issues at an expert level relating to business applications and escalate to application vendor as needed
    • Report any issues requiring escalation to the Director of Technology
    • Provide timely resolution to advanced and complex technical problems
    • Provide comprehensive explanation to client as needed to communicate technical issues and their resulting resolution

  • Technical Consultation
    • Identify areas for improvement as it relates to their technical infrastructure and communicate to a Senior Systems Engineer or the Director of Technology
    • Work directly with a Senior Systems Engineer or the Director of Technology to up-sell client after identifying need for improvement, upgrade or replacement
    • Provide sound consultation that has a basis on industry standards and best practices
    • Engage in regular communication with your assigned clients to determine if technical needs exist

  • Technology Implementation Services
    • Fulfill technical requirements as detailed in the Scope of Work
    • Perform technical implementation on time and as scheduled per the project plan or as directed by the Director of Technology
    • Perform implementation within the hours budgeted on all projects and installations
    • Install servers, networking, operating systems, appliances, applications and other supporting technical equipment as required to fulfill scope of work
    • Maintain up to date industry knowledge required to provide effective and efficient technical implementation services
    • Perform Sales Engineering / Sales Support as required

Education and Experience Required:

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years in Information Technology
  • Intermediate Networking knowledge - Layer 2, Layer 3
  • Extreme Networking experience is a plus
  • Intermediate Firewall / UTM knowledge
  • SonicWALL experience is a plus
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 and above
  • Microsoft Remote Desktop Server
  • Microsoft O365 Administration experience
  • Virtualization administration knowledge
  • VMWare is a requirement
  • Must have at least one technical certification to be considered but the following areas of certification are a plus:
  • VMWare
  • Microsoft
