As Systems Administrator, you will help further INFRA’s vision of a sustainable, equitable food system by keeping our tech systems running smoothly so that our staff can focus on bringing good food to communities across the country. This position isn’t limited to system settings, though. You will also play a key role in integrating software applications to create useful, efficient productivity tools for our staff.  This is a unique growth opportunity for someone looking to grow their existing IT/systems administrator experience, or someone with advanced Tier-2 desktop experience looking to take the next step in their career in a fast-moving, purpose-driven organization.


What you will own and improve:

Systems administration

  • Oversee Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 platforms, including user profiles and access rights
  • Support development and integration Microsoft applications to meet organizational needs
  • Assist with design and implementation of network and IT infrastructure to accommodate a growing organization (INFRA is 95% cloud based in Azure)
  • Install, upgrade, and monitor INFRA software & hardware, including license renewal and maintenance contracts
  • Participate in budgeting and technology planning processes, including disaster recovery
  • Assist with and serve as back up for user IT support

Systems performance

  • Look for ways to make things work well, including:
  • Maintain operating systems & network to ensure maximum up-time (95%+), security, and backups
  • Work with external service providers to ensure optimal system configurations and stability
  • Continually improve development and assess performance of Dynamics 365 CRM solutions and data architecture

IT and security best practices

  • Stay current with industry trends, hardware, software lifecycles, and new technology opportunities
  • Collaborate with and contribute to Operations Team strategy
  • Create and support internal trainings, especially regarding systems use and security

IT and data governance management

  • Work as part of a project team to deliver and improve internal systems and productivity tools
  • Assure systems are in compliance with governance decisions

What you already know:

  • Systems Administrator requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a generalist IT role such as Systems Administrator, including desktop and infrastructure
  • Technical experience that translates well to working with Microsoft 365 tools such as, Azure, Dynamics CRM, SharePoint, backup systems, and databases
  • Knowledge of functional/operational practices necessary to operate in a highly available and secure environment
  • Experience with networking and firewall configuration
  • Experience leading projects from requirements through implementation
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Skillful problem solver who takes initiative to find solutions and improve upon processes. We love self-taught backgrounds!
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communicator
  • Professional manner and ability to handle confidential situations
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all contacts
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Associate Systems Administrator is 3 years of generalist IT, desktop support, or advanced Tier 2 support and 1-2 years of Systems Administrator experience, with exposure to the majority of the “What you already know” section

*This role is located out of our St. Paul MN office as a part of our hybrid workforce, working a mix of flex days and minimum 2-3+ days in office. 

*Travel up to 5% may be required for this position.
