Desired Skill Requirements: Experience providing Software, Database & Networking and Undersea Modeling Analysis support to the NUWCDIVNPT Code 70 Ranges, Engineering and Analysis Department. Job Duties: In support of the to the NUWCDIVNPT Code 70 Ranges, Engineering and Analysis Department, provide Software, Database & Networking and Undersea Modeling Analysis in the areas of: Develop software and/or firmware solutions including the incorporation of upgraded equipment (hardware or computer hardware); Investigate and develop programming for improvements to the performance of the software, or expansion of the software's capabilities to meet emerging Fleet needs; Make improvements and modernize the software systems and subsystems to address issues involving the controlling and monitoring of equipment, including shore hardware, shipboard systems, in-water controls and monitoring functions, in-water systems, for both full systems and any identified subsystems; Develop Computer Software upgrades using Government provided requirements to address software and/or hardware interface changes; Evaluate, modify, adapt, maintain, and update computer software, and supporting documentation in order to ensure System performance; Perform Configuration Management (CM) tracking of all Software Programs and supporting Documentation and their versions and revisions in databases residing on the Government's computer network; Provide network design, build, and administration support of Linux networking, networking infrastructure and server support; Create new, expand existing or update existing Government owned databases, databases include: Equipment Audit (e.g., inventory and data base programs) for USWTR, SOAR Refurbishment, BSURE physical configuration audit and Data reduction program archiving of debriefs for the Ranges; Utilizing the Navy Acoustic Effects Model software located on the RDT&E Computer Network in Code 70's Undersea Battlespace Laboratory to conduct modeling and analysis of acoustic and explosive sources to estimate the effects of underwater sound on marine mammal species and other marine life; Conduct verification and validation analyses of the software and data used to estimate the effects of underwater sounds on various marine species to determine if the assumptions, data, and modeling methodology are representative of real world conditions and prepare Technical Reports on the acoustic effects modeling and analysis; Conduct reviews of Technical Reports on acoustic effects modeling and analysis to assess if the report correctly captures all relevant information associated with the subject modeling and analysis.
