The Product Manager – PharmBio will be responsible for driving revenue growth and profit for assigned products, executes marketing plans, and collaborates with engineering to develop a robust product portfolio. The Product Manager works closely with the marketing director to develop a clear “mapping” of the markets, competition, customer needs and market trends to help establish a strategic plan for the business. Utilizing this collective assessment, the PM also develops and executes an annual marketing plan that ensures bookings, revenue and margin targets are met.


Product Management

  • Defines new product roadmap and takes responsibility for product definition, requirements and business plans as part of the Stage Gate Process.
  • Analyzes market drivers, trends, and the economic cycles that impact the business
  • Evaluates competitive offerings
  • Establishes a proposed market plan to achieved sustained growth
  • Manages the product file for assigned products including product structuring, ordering and pricing.
  • Works closely with the Sales organization to facilitate region marketing, sales and resolution of questions or issues within the sales organization. Provides training on assigned products.
  • Manages product obsolescence and develops migration strategy with minimal disruption to customer’s businesses
  • Works closely with the product development, engineering, quality, and sales teams to ensure the “voice of the customer” translates into new product development
  • Other duties as assigned

Market Development

  • Develops and implements an annual marketing plan (tactics) to drive leads into the funnel while collaborating with the sales team to meet annual bookings targets
  • Identifies market, customer, and competitive opportunities that will translate into revenue growth and then executes necessary actions to turn the opportunity into revenue
  • Works with internal and external Marcom resources to implement defined and agreed upon marketing tactics: events, website, social media, press, training, etc.
  • Works closely with the engineering, quality, and sale teams during new product development to ensure products are aligned with customer needs, competitive offerings, and our strategic financial goals
  • Develops competitive intelligence for each segment and provides insight to the sales team
  • Creates displacement or recapture strategies to gain higher market share and/or position
  • Maintains close relationship with sales to understand customers and to provide support

  • Must be able to access shared database with government programs and access all physical areas of the facility (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related Business field required; a MBA or Engineering degree is also helpful
  • Minimum of 7 years of product marketing and related brand development experience is required
  • Marketing or technical experience in BioPharm upstream processing technologies or single use technologies highly desired
  • Demonstrated business acumen and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in communication techniques in all forms and with most forms of media
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with peers, cross-functional teams, and executive team
  • Proficiency with related marketing and sales software; MS Office products; social media; experience with ERP systems also preferred
  • Able to conduct complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment
