IGT Indiana is seeking a Social Media Specialist to be the brand evangelist responsible for growing the Hoosier Lottery fan base and deepening engagement with players across all social media channels. The Specialist, reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, will be responsible for understanding the brand strategy, personality and tone, and social media's role in achieving overall marketing goals, to create a consistent voice in the space for the Hoosier Lottery and its products.
The position requires a person who is a self-starter, externally oriented, and works well in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be expected to: Show expertise and experience across social media platforms including technology, software, social listening tools, and success metrics/evaluation; Stay abreast of emerging social trends with high level awareness of relevant and applicable pop-culture news and stories for brand alignment and development; Exhibit proven creativity and innovative ideas, be able to craft and publish engaging, original, and high-quality content within tight timelines to catch trend waves as they break/unfold; Display impeccable qualities in written communication, creative writing, and organizations skills; Work well on teams, collaborating on campaigns with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders with varying degrees of marketing experience; Be a proactive individual with strong planning skills and a unique ability to maximize efforts with limited resources.
The candidate will ensure adherence to the Marketing Code of Conduct and Responsible Gaming standards and help deliver IGT Indiana's revenue commitments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Planning - 20% Develop, maintain, and communicate a comprehensive social media strategy and content calendar aligned with overall brand and marketing initiatives Ensure social media is incorporated into all Hoosier Lottery marketing efforts, monitoring user engagement and implement support tactics to bolster SEO (e.g., growing audience, encouraging external inbound links, optimizing posts for searches, social sharing, etc.) Understand player segmentation and audiences for each of our products, know their behaviors, and identify solutions to reach and convert behaviors
Campaign Development & Execution - 65% Execute all social media strategy and management on behalf of the Hoosier Lottery Design brand-enhancing social media campaigns and programs to achieve specific business objectives and brand affinity goals, including support for new product launches Orchestrate and execute relevant, high-quality content for social space linked to key player segments in support of marketing initiatives as needed - includes, but is not limited to, image and graphic posts, video content, animated memes, editorial descriptions, news flash/updates, Facebook / Instagram live communication and content, etc. Manage all day-to-day community engagement requirements and activities - includes, but is not limited to, legal and product response protocols, 1:1 communication with players, management of strategic and tactical differences between social channels, pre-programmed posting schedule, etc. Coordinate flawlessly with internal creative resources, field marketing, advertising, digital, and sales teams Liaise with advertising and digital agencies, when applicable, to support consistent campaign content Collaborate with the Loyalty Engagement Specialist to develop, implement and manage innovative sweeps/promotions to drive greater relevance, engagement, and grow social communities Expand social influencer program to identify, leverage, and track evangelists/influencers among social media community Follow all Hoosier Lottery guidelines while executing social campaigns, promotions, and giveaways Collaborate with the Sr. PR & Promotions Manager to leverage social media to support Winner Awareness activities, which may include winner interviews, winner stories, and other opportunities to showcase winners of the Hoosier Lottery
Metrics & Reporting - 10% Define and own reporting metrics and KPIs for social space, regularly reporting on engagement, traffic, and ROI for all social platforms
Insights & Trends - 5% Responsible for all social listening output, communicating trends regularly to wider marketing audience, as applicable and necessary Educate internal teams on key findings and industry trends and apply them towards integrated marketing campaigns
B.A. or B.S. degree in Business, Marketing or Communications Minimum 3 years experience in digital marketing or social media Business-to-Consumer marketing experience within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Experience managing Social Media campaigns (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube) and utilizing social media platforms such as Falcon, Hootsuite, Social Studio, or similar Demonstrated ability of devePrinloping and implementing social strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills, including ability to communicate courteously and work effectively with the public, particularly adults of all ages, abilities and cultural backgrounds Exceptional project management and task orientation, ability to multitask effectively Ability to interact and collaborate with colleagues from all levels of the organization Strong strategic planning, analytic and research skills to identify needs, opportunities, and solutions Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to function independently, which includes prioritizing and organizing work Ability to analyze problems and make appropriate decisions
