Junior Software Developer (Support Technician 2023-05 CB)

The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking one Junior Software Developer to work in Prof. Carles Bo’s Research Group. This position will be funded by Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación/AEI/EU/PRTR and NEXT GENERATION/PRTR funds.

ICIQ is committed to performing excellent research at the frontier of knowledge in the broad area of chemistry (Catalysis, Artificial Photosynthesis, Activation of Small Molecules, Photovoltaics, Functional Molecular Assemblies and Chemical Biology, from either theoretical or experimental perspectives). ICIQ is looking for one Junior Software Developer to work in the research group of Prof. Carles Bo in the development of GUIs for Web applications and computational workflows for optimizing catalytic processes.

Responsibilities

The candidate will develop Graphical User Interfaces for Web applications and computational workflows for optimizing catalytic processes. Documentation of the new codes and creation of user manuals.

Requirements

• CFGS (Desenvolupament d'aplicacions web), or equivalent, or superior
• Programming skills:
  • Strong understanding on HTML, CSS and Single-page applications (SPA)
    
  • JavaScript language, jQuery toolkit
  • Interactive & Responsive Design: Bootstrap toolkit
  • Familiarity with UI/UX Principles
• Proficiency with content composition, design, prototyping
• Open to learning new technologies, frameworks and best practices
• He/she should be a motivated, open-minded, highly dynamic and a team player.
• Proven good knowledge of English (written and oral).

We offer

• A full-time employment temporary contract linked to the project TED2021-132850-I00 “Bases de datos enlazadas para descubrir nuevos materiales/Data4Mat” ending on 30/11/2024.
• Remuneration according to individual’s qualifications/experience.
• Annual salary split in twelve monthly payments.
