ABOUT THE POSITIONAs an Ambulatory Oncology Registered Nurse, you will work with some of the top Cancer Specialists in their field, seeing high-acuity patients and reporting to the Manager of Outpatient Oncology at the hospital. This hospital is the most innovative community hospital IN THE COUNTRY and provides their nursing staff with advantages for continued growth and upward mobility, as well as their patients with the most advanced medicine and equipment. This is a newly redesigned and constructed unit, seeing patients with all cancer types, including those on Clinical Trials.Key Responsibilities Include:
- Administer chemotherapy to Oncology Patients
- Assist in the education of treatment for patients and their families
- Make critical and rapid decisions, including delegating interventions, based on patient status.
- Collaborate with Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and other clinicians on patients status and care.
- Coordinate care to maximize desirable outcomes, patient satisfaction, and utilization of resources.
- 1+ year experience as a Registered Nurse in Oncology, with at least 6 months experience administering chemotherapy. This includes Med/Surg Oncology, Hem/Onc unit, or Ambulatory Oncology Units.
- Associates Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred. *must be willing to obtain BSN within 3 years of hire.
