Join ICAN's summer camp team to support enriching experiences for children and teens who may be experiencing Autism, ADHD, or neurodevelopmental disorders AND gain valuable experience working with these populations! This is a great opportunity if you plan to apply for graduate school in an area of child development!

Note: This position is located in Bellevue, WA - 10 miles from Seattle.

Responsibilities:

• Support a small group of camp attendees in daily scheduled activities
  
• Provide individual attention and informal development plans forcampers
• Ensure safety of each camper by participating in prevention and incidentresponse
• Clean and organize materials andequipment
• Support and maintain positive work environment and open communication within department and ICAN as awhole
• Supervise and guide campers in your group throughout camp to meet the intended camperoutcomes
  
• Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers andstaff
• Watch the health of campers and refer any problems to Camp Coordinator or Leadership Staff
• Ensure the safety and well-being of campers under yoursupervision
• Be alert to equipment and facilities to ensure utilization, proper care, and maintenance is adheredto
• Be a role model to campers and staff in your attitude andbehavior
• Other duties asassigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• 6 months or more experience working with children preferred: camps, childcare, tutoring, nanny, coaching, etc.
• Current state-approved CPR and First Aid certification (or capable to obtain before camp)
• Comfortable with individual and groups of children
• Interest in and aptitude for quality programming and can build a sense of belonging ingroups
• Responsive and proactive communicator
• Enthusiasm, sense of humor, good judgment, patience, and self-control
  

Preferred

• One or more summers of children's camp counseling experience
