Senior Consultant, Business Transformation Fulfillment

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant, Business Transformation Fulfillment, you will be a contributor to the development of supply chain strategies assisting in process design, configuration, testing and training. The position will work with internal and external clients to understand the movement of goods throughout the supply chain.
Responsibilities:

  • Provide design assistance for client specific supply chain applications. (transportation, ERP, order management) as it relates to warehouse management.
  • Identify barriers to productivity and provide cost benefit analysis and impact to clients.
  • Implement system configuration/workflow to increase efficiency, decrease operational costs, increase quality, and smooth operational processes to meet business requirements.
  • Provide direct support for warehouse users by taking the initiative when needed to pro-actively address systems problems and risks.
  • Demonstrate functional and professional knowledge to ensure work products and deliverables are completed properly.
  • Support clients to determine business issues and recommend operational solutions to drive business value. Applies in-depth consulting skills and business knowledge aligned to business objectives, processes, measurements and tools to analyze client business issues, formulate hypotheses and test conclusions to determine appropriate solutions, methodologies (e.g., Lean).
  • Focus on next generation Supply Chain Operations which provides organizations with the ability to recognize operational improvements across many areas of their value chain including customer service, product quality, cycle time, asset utilization, forecasting, inventory management.
  • Formulates long term supply chain strategies encompassing infrastructure, assets, organization, processes and technology using appropriate emerging technologies.
  • Help clients develop logistics strategy & implement new technologies in Warehousing, Transportation, and Reverse Logistics that result in significant cost reduction and client service improvement. Identifies best practices and client performance gaps, if any.
  • Use tools to identify, align, and change the factors that affect performance, stability, and teaming and develops comprehensive transformation recommendations.
  • Assist clients in the selection, implementation and support of Supply Chain Execution-Related Systems (e.g., WMS, TMS).
  • Utilize consulting skills, business knowledge, and packaged solution knowledge to effectively integrate packaged technology into the client's operations environment in order to achieve client expected business results.
  • Contribute to the development of intellectual content and assets to position IBM as a thought leader in Supply Chain
  • Work with clients on changing customer demands, regulatory impacts and shifts in the market as required
  • Continue to expand supply chain knowledge through learning
*** Preferred cities: NYC, Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Columbus, OH, Houston and San Francisco, CA. Travel up to 75%.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • 2+years of experience as a JDA or equivalent warehouse management systems (WMS) business consultant, solution architect, and/or developer.
  • 2+ years of experience in a warehouse operation role or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience maintaining a cross-functional project issues list.
  • 2+ years of experience soliciting and organizing customer requirements, tracking the status of project deliverables, and managing related additional documents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and partner with coworkers across all levels.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%
