Position Overview:

Lead the execution of plan-spec electrical projects while driving profit goals for one of our key lines of business. In this role, you will mentor and develop a high-functioning team of professionals, guiding them all aspects of the construction project life cycle, from Pre-Construction through Post-Construction, and ensuring adherence to IB Abel's Project Delivery Process.

Use your expertise in the electrical contracting industry to seek out new business, nurturing and building customer relationships to produce quality results. Our Electrical Services Department spans the Mid-Atlantic region and includes Project Managers at the entry-, mid-, and senior levels. Location & Travel:

  • This is a telecommute position with flexibility to work from any central IB Abel office and from home when appropriate
  • Some travel as necessary to customer job sites (about 1-3/week), other offices or yard locations, and trips for training and offsite meetings
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and develop a team of Project Managers and Associate Project Managers in commercial electrical construction
  • Maintain all reporting and performance indicators for Electrical Services and recommend process improvements as needed
  • Ensure that Project Managers accurately develop estimated revenue and cost at completion data in a consistent and timely manner. Review subcontractor and vendor requirements and performance with Project Managers.
  • Work with owners, engineers and/or subcontractors to resolve project problems to support Project Managers and further develop customer relationships
  • Explore opportunities to establish new customers and business opportunities and assist leadership in expanding revenue
  • Communicate with Estimating Manager for change order estimating and pricing strategies custom to each project
  • Review prepared project status reports detailing cost variances on work to date and cost at completion and revenue projections
  • Ensure Project Managers are providing the accounting group with timely billing information for assigned projects as required
Desired Qualifications:

Required:
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience managing electrical projects
  • Proficient in MS Office applications with strong skills in Excel, Word, Primavera 6 and MS Project
  • Strong knowledge of the local area's construction services industry and/or other related service-oriented organizations
Other:
  • Valid State Driver's License or equivalent
  • Must be able to present acceptable documents evidencing identity and employment authorizations per the Federal I-9 requirement
Desired:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or other related field or comparable equivalent of education
