Job Description

SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist (HRG) provides a wide variety of both complex and routine administrative services. The HRG carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), HR compliance, employee relations, payroll oversight, training and development, benefits, compensation, and recruiting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes

· Assist with the onboarding of all new employees, including employee orientation, explanation of benefits, explanation of company policies, etc.

· Provide support to employees in various HR related topics

· Assist in the development, administration, and implementation of human resource policies & procedures

· Assists employees with HR matters

· Gather and analyze data for useful HR metrics

· Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form

· Maintain employee information in HRIS/Payroll systems and maintain data integrity

· Input new employees into HRIS system

· Assist with annual EEO-1 Filing

· Coordinate pre-employment background checks & drug screening

· Assist in the creation of new employee job descriptions and maintain current job descriptions

· Assist with FMLA process including completing forms, employee & management notifications & tracking leave allotments

· Participates in the conduct of investigations when employee grievances, complaints or concerns are brought forth

· Assists with the management of the performance management system which includes performance development plans and employee development programs

· Assists with the establishment of in-house employee training and education. Tracks training throughout the Funds

· Participates and assists in staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as required

· Manages employee off-boarding process including holding exit interviews, updating systems, notifying Accounting, IT and BTF

· Assists in special projects

· Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or Organizational Development

· 3+ years of progressive experience in a Human Resources position

· Experience and strong knowledge of HR compliance, employee benefits, recruitment, compensation, HRIS, performance management and payroll systems

· Professional HR certification

MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel administration

· Strong understanding of Federal, State, & District laws and regulations

· Strong interpersonal skills both oral and written

· Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple projects

· Proficient in MS Office Suite

· HRIS and Payroll systems knowledge and experience

· Must handle confidential matters with appropriate discretion

· Strong attention to detail

· Demonstrated ability to motivate, collaborate, and lead

· Ability to adapt, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change or unexpected events
