Fuel Cell System Engineer

POSITION 

Fuel Cell System Engineer will be based in Troy, Michigan, as part of the team developing fuel cell electric powertrain system products for commercial vehicles. The roles and responsibilities of this position include but not limited to: 

• Perform fuel cell system testing in labs and vehicles
• Commission and troubleshoot fuel cell systems in labs and vehicles
• Process, analyze, and report the fuel cell system test data 
• Coordinate with system development, software, and vehicle teams to ensure a successful integration of fuel cell system to the vehicle
• Responsible for DVP&R for fuel cell system platform development
• Validate and parametrize the fuel cell system model for the platform development
• Support powertrain and vehicle engineering teams for packaging and system integration 
• Participate in vehicle powertrain system architecture layout 
• Participate in fuel cell system calibration and support software development team
• Perform fuel cell component selection and system layout

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors or Masters of Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Software or Computer Engineering, or equivalent
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with fuel cell system integration
• Understand fundamentals in fuel cell working principles: design principles and integration requirements
• Understand hybrid and electric powertrains fundamentals
• Understand vehicle testing and performance characterization
• Knowledge of fuel cell control system operation and optimization techniques
• Knowledge of fuel cell, e-Motor, battery setup in test cell, test plan development and data collection
• Familiarity with fuel cell DVP&R documentation
• Working experience with Vector CANape/CANalyzer, Matlab/Simulink
• Self-motivated, willing to collaboratively work for challenges
• Occasional travel
