Maintenance Mechanic B

Overall Purpose:  The Maintenance Mechanic B will assist the maintenance department in performing general maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on all manufacturing and facility equipment as needed. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• General building maintenance
• Moving office furniture
• Operate various tools, including, but not limited to, drill, sander, drill press, power hacksaw and hand tools
• Practice and sustain lean manufacturing
• Assist with electrical/mechanical installations
• Lock out/tag out of machinery
• Assist with installation of new equipment
• Assist with relocation of machinery
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and machinery located in manufacturing areas
• Troubleshoot and suggest changes to eliminate recurring problems
• Collaborate with janitorial staff
• Adhere to 5S Standards
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety

 Qualification Requirements:

• High School education or equivalent
• Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with little to no supervision
• Possess understanding of industrial equipment mechanics
• Experience with forklifting driving and scissor lift work platform use
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Fluent in English (able to read, speak, write and understand)
• Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)    

Physical Demands:                             

·         While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to:

o   Stand and walk

o   Reach with both hands and arms

o   Perform repetitive motions

o   Lift 50 or more pounds

·         While performing duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to:

o   Work in closed-in and manufacturing areas

o   Work near ceiling on a boom lift

Work Environment:   Majority of the work is done in a warehouse setting
