What Is My Role?

The primary function of this role is to manage and enhance the operations of an existing quality control infrastructure involving personnel, systems and procedures at multiple locations throughout the company network. Primary responsibilities include overall coordination and operational leadership of the supply chain specific to Quality Assurance, RSL (Restricted Substance List) and CPSIA compliance. This individual is a key stakeholder of the supply chain division, protecting the brand quality value equation and collaborating with cross functional teams in order to achieve continued focus and improvement in the quality and safety of apparel products.

What You'll Do

  • Strategic leadership/vision experience for a large team
  • Implement quality control structure, assurance, production and guidelines from cutting to finished and manage international Quality Assurance team to ensure overall quality and AQL (acceptable quality limit) and on time delivery
  • Centralize Asia, Mexico, and domestic QA/QC teams to fall under one organization lead by the VP of Product Integrity
  • Advise vendors on best practices and methods to correct issues
  • Perform quality control audits at beginning, middle and final stages of production
  • Perform random quality inspections in line with customer requirements
  • Educate / Onboard new Vendors to the understanding and application of our Quality requirements
  • Collect data and publish scorecards working towards reducing the defect level at factories by identifying opportunities for product and process improvement
  • Implement factory quality evaluation program
  • Participate in customers’ QC Certification
  • Participate in the Corporate strategic planning process to integrate improvements with the overall business plan
  • Ensure quality control functions which include inspections, tests and corrective actions are coordinated throughout the organization
  • Quality Assurance on sample details meet the company requirements and test guidelines to be ready for production
  • Travel to overseas mills and sewing factories in Asia as needed to work closely with managers and line managers to continually escalate quality
  • Accountable for establishing and implementing continual process training, evaluation, and improvement program
  • Develop dependable partnerships with cross functional teams including QA, Product
  • Development/Sourcing, Legal, Compliance, Sales and others in support of department and company initiatives
  • Other duties may be assigned in accordance with company needs

What You'll Need

  • 10 years of management experience required, specifically in Quality department of a manufacturing company
  • 5 years in apparel knits and woven quality management required
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing process related to raw materials required
  • Knowledge of US, Asia and other international safety requirements and norms applicable to apparel products and processes required
  • Experienced in analytical and statistical tools and metrics
  • Experienced in writing and implementing Quality standard operating procedures
  • Ability to travel
