This Assistant Operations Roving Manager will be roving between departments focused on leadership of the Event Services, Food & Beverage Outlets and the Stewarding department. They will be focused mainly in Event Services but will also assist in F&B & Stewarding. They will be responsible for floating between departments managing banquet events at the hotel, dining experience and stewarding. This person supervises event room set-ups, service, and maintenance of all banquet functions and banquet equipment. This role is a highly detailed role within the hotel to complete event requirement and create an appealing experience for guests.

Roving Responsibilities Division:
Event Services - 60%
Food & Beverage - 20%
Stewarding - 20%

The Assistant Operations Roving Manager is also responsible for assisting the Food and Beverage team in managing the Outlets & Stewarding Department as an efficient, and productive cost and service center ensuring a smooth operation. This role therefore contributes to maximizing guest satisfaction consistent with Hyatt International standards, through planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the stewarding operation and administration. The role is responsible for maintaining an organized, clean and sanitized back-of-house Food & Beverage area and to provide all outlets and events with clean operating equipment based on expected business levels.

The Assistant Operations Roving Manager will oversee oversees the leadership of all food and beverage outlets within the hotel operated by Hyatt which includes our restaurant Quail and Crane, Twin Crafts Market and Bar, In Room Dining and our Grand Club Lounge.
  • Quail & Crane – Two birds representing the coming together of East and West. Our signature three-meal restaurant will provide our guests with a multi-cultural culinary experience with a focus on fusion and classic Asian food preparation techniques, side by side with Western dishes. Restaurant will have a sushi bar featuring fresh, chef-inspired rolls using high quality, thoughtfully sourced ingredients. Open kitchen concept.
  • Twin Crafts Market - Offering a wide range of fresh and healthy items to the “on the go” traveler.
  • Twin Crafts Bar - This invites guests to enjoy casual bar food, craft cocktails, California wines and local beers.

Responsibilities may include scheduling, forecasting and training, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws as well as all operating procedures. This person may also coordinate special events at the hotel. The Assistant Operations Manager must have strong communication and analytical skills. Food and Beverage cost control experience is helpful.

  • Must have previous event/banquets experience.
  • Refined verbal communication skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate weight (about 50 pounds)
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Proficient in basic computer skill
  • Experience in leadership at a hotel or similar large restaurant with exceptional standards preferred
  • Strong communication, problem solving, employee relations and interpersonal skills;
  • Developed computer skills particularly in the use of MS Office and email
  • Be an engaged trainer, able to facilitate at all levels
  • A Qualification in Hospitality Management is preferred but not essential
  • Adapt and thrive with change
  • Must have previous leadership experience
