Job Description

Hunt Electric, Inc. of Salt Lake City, UT is searching for a full-time Preconstruction Specialist to join our team within the Preconstruction Department. Can you work in a team environment with other employees to assist in engineering and design-related duties and coordinating project needs? The Preconstruction Specialist will assist in the planning, initiating, and managing of information for various projects to produce electrical pre-construction models and drawings. This person will also serve as a liaison between inner company technical aspects of projects and monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.


This position requires self-motivation and self-management of work with strong interpersonal skills.


This full-time Preconstruction Specialist position receives a competitive salary commensurate with experience and position responsibilities. On Projects                                                                                       

  • Manage and distribute the working schedules and updated project information
  • Review drawings from Engineering
  • Create/Review shop drawings from Precon
  • BIM coordination meetings
  • Feedback for our processes from Project Team
  • Deciding which Precon tasks apply to any project
  • Launching Prefab services
  • Launching Survey Process

On Team Management                                                                                   

  • QAQC all documents created
  • Set up project folders
  • Responsible for communications
  • Set up coordination meetings



  • 10+ years of Project Foreman Experience
  • Experience on multiple project types
  • Journeyman Electrical card


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working Experience within Excel
  • MS Office including Word
  • Working with Professional Engineers, CAD operators, and other team members
  • Experience with estimating construction projects
  • Experience with Microsoft programs, Blue Beam


  • Budgeting and Material Cost Knowledge
  • Advanced Knowledge of all Electrical systems
  • Advanced Managerial Skills
  • Advanced Understanding of NEC
  • Median Computer Skills
  • Advanced understanding of conduit routing, gear layout
  • Advanced Communication Skills
  • BIM knowledge and experience
  • Advanced print reading knowledge

This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, Friday, 7:00 am – 2:00 pm.
