The Director, Financial Analytics manages data and analytic processes to support decisions ranging from day-to-day operations and specific business performance issues to strategic planning. The Director, Financial Analytics requires an in-depth understanding of enterprise analytic capabilities and how they support the function and segment.
The Director, Financial Analytics will support Group business leaders in forecasting, understanding and controlling medical cost trend. The right candidate updates and improves forecasting models, and interprets and analyzes data in order to identify, explain and or influence variances and medical cost trends. The ability to communicate findings clearly to other leaders, including senior leaders, is critical.
Prepare timely, quarterly estimates of commercial trend that predict core trend to within 50 basis points of actual
+ Implement model enhancements to respond to product, network, benefit and other changes
+ Enhance model precision
+ Present results to business leaders
Create deep understanding of medical cost trend drivers and root causes using advanced query and analytic tools
+ Communicate findings effectively to business and Finance leaders
Oversee and improve efficiency of processes to prepare and deliver routine reports and reporting tools ("build-and-publish") to business leaders
Respond promptly to adhoc analytic requests:
+ Administer a prioritization/triaging process for adhoc requests
+ Respond to users with an ETA within 5 business days
+ Deliver analytics within promised ETA 80% of the time
+ End-user satisfaction (1 - 10 scale) of 8 or greater in 2020
Create strong understanding of and connection to Enterprise Digital Health and Analytics function
+ Appropriate triage of adhoc data requests ("use cases") to DH&A
+ Deployment of DH&A endorsed analytic tools (e.g., Microsoft PowerBI)
Deliver a high-level of service and satisfaction to internal customers requesting adhoc analytical analyses
+ Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial, Finance, or other quantitative
+ Strong command of technical platforms (SAS, Tableau, Excel).
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Expertise in medical cost analysis and/or medical economics
+ Proven record of success in developing associates for roles of broader and greater responsibility
+ Experience creating efficiency in high producing team in a consumer centric organization
+ Required to work from a Market Office if outside of Louisville KY
+ MBA or ASA or FSA
+ Demonstrated success improving efficiency using technology or outsourcing
