Job Description

Be a Windows System Administrator for one of the most unique and prestigious Federal Government Agencies in the Washington DC area.

 

You must be resourceful and creative in problem solving and must be able to juggle competing tasks

simultaneously. Additionally, you must be able to work independently to complete your job duties and

responsibilities. You must also be able to work collaboratively with others in problem identification and

resolution and be flexible and adaptable to a wide range of tasks and technologies, demonstrating both a

depth and breadth of technical skills and knowledge. You must possess past, professional, and direct hands-

on (as well as day-to-day) operational experience which will enable you to successfully meet job

responsibilities. The Windows Systems Administrator is a great opportunity for a motivated self-starter who is detail oriented and

Responsibilities Include:

  • Advanced Windows 2016/2019 administrator responsible for all components of server administration
  • including but not limited to installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of servers.
  • Ability to administratively manage as well as maintain an Active Directory environment which includes
  • virtual and physical servers
  • Administer, manage and maintain a virtual infrastructure consisting of virtual machines, appliances and
  • hosts
  • Administer, manage and maintain a multi-site Citrix solution and associated thin clients
  • Ability to administratively manage as well as maintain email servers
  • The Windows Systems Administrator, manage and maintain data center hardware and equipment
  • Management of the daily, weekly and monthly data backup. Experience with managing backup jobs and
  • associated tape library hardware
  • Active planning and participation in complete system builds, upgrades, migrations, code deployments and
  • patch as well as configuration management on an on-going basis.
  • Configuration and testing of any new hardware and software.
  • Performance of daily, weekly and monthly system health checks to ensure operational status of the system
  • to include virtual infrastructure, physical infrastructure, user endpoints and peripherals.
  • On-going patching of system as well as configuration changes to maintain security of the system to include virtual and physical infrastructure through both manual changes and system wide changes through group policy
  • Create and/or update system design documentation, Standard Operating Procedures and Disaster Recovery plans
  • Provide all levels of system administration and help desk support from tier one to tier three to include all IT solutions within the system.
  • Participate in meeting the ever-changing needs of the customer
  • Provide occasional after hours support as required

Salary Range

$70,000 to $80,000 - with excellent Benefit Package

Mandatory Requirements:

  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to gain IT-1 Public Trust
  • Successfully pass a drug test
  • Must have resided in the United States for the last 7 years or more, and during this period has not lived overseas for 1 year or more

Required Skills and Experience for Windows Systems Administrator opportunity:

  • Hands on experience with system patch management tools such as Windows WSUS or similar tools
  • Previous experience required in applying patches in accordance with government guidelines and DISA STIG findings.
  • Supporting Windows application and incident resolution from Tier one to three
  • Experience with third-party applications and tools such as Antivirus and Malware
