Special Conditions:

HumanKind requires all potential new hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, before their first scheduled day of work. Fully vaccinated according to the CDC means two weeks after receiving the final dose in the primary series (two shots of Moderna or Pfizer, OR one shot of Johnson & Johnson).

Job Summary:

The benefits specialist an hourly, nonexempt, benefited position, responsible for the administration of all benefits. The benefits specialist is the primary contact person for all employee benefit questions. Additional HR responsibilities may be assigned as appropriate. Proof full COVID-19 vaccination is required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in ADP to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Assists with new-hire benefits’ orientation.
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
  • Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes.
  • Provide training and support for all HK offered benefits.
  • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork.
  • Effectively interprets Workers’ Comp., FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Responsible for the open enrollment process.
  • Administer and track the tuition reimbursement program.
  • Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
Requirements/Practical Experience:
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint; experience with ADP, or other HRIS programs and benefits databases.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs desired.
  • Working knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs.
  • Must provide COVID-19 vaccination documentation.
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
  • Complete and pass all required background checks and drug testing.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate’s degree in HR or related field, or experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education preferred.
  • HRM, CEBS, CBP, SHRM, HRCI professional designations preferred.
  • Prior experience in Human Resources and/or Benefits Administration preferred.
