Job Description

The Tech Lead co-leads an assigned delivery team(s) alongside the Team Lead. The Tech Lead guides the technical development work being done. They are responsible for understanding, at a high level, the tasks and milestones for projects being worked on by the team. The Tech Lead provides technical leadership, mentorship and coaching to the developers on the team. This role utilizes team and company resources to solve technical problems for our clients.

The Tech Lead collaborates with the Director of Delivery, Director of Technology and the other Tech Leads to provide technical direction and vision in the work that our teams deliver, as well as keeping us at the cutting edge of new technologies that may enhance our work.

Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for leading and implementing the technical development of all projects assigned to the delivery team to ensure successful and timely delivery.
  • Provides technical leadership for launches, code reviews, architecture, estimations, ticket reviews, and deployments to ensure processes are followed, client delivery is successful and timely, delegating and coaching the technical teams, and participating in the work needed as able.
  • Provides direction for resource planning and work assignments for the technical teams to ensure developers skillsets are being utilized accordingly, allowing for paired programming and learning opportunities, and providing cross-functional knowledge saturation across projects.
  • Provides strong technical leadership to the team members including coaching/mentoring, providing feedback, fostering an environment for growth and professional development, and removing technical blockers.
  • Works closely with the Team Lead, Director of Delivery and Human Resources with hiring, performance management, conflict resolution, training and development, employee recognition, and any other team member related issues
  • Fosters a team environment that encourages team member participation and collaboration in meetings, in problem solving, and in sharing best practices/learnings within the team as well as across the wider development team.
  • Ensures the team is maintaining defined models for technical documentation and processes
  • Works with the Director of Delivery, Director of Technology and the Tech Lead group to rollout new technologies and development processes
  • Provides technical oversight of architecture, development and implementation of projects
  • Collaborates with the team lead to resolve team specific issues
  • Participates in client meetings to communicate technical issues and solve technical problems
  • Participates in sales meetings to provide technical support and guidance on new potential projects as needed
  • Other responsibilities and projects as assigned

Requirements
  • 3-5 years experience in eCommerce solution development including customizing and launching new eCommerce sites
  • Strong experience with Magento 2
  • Member of a Team that has built, customized and launched many new eCommerce sites
  • Magento 2
  • Experience creating technical workflows and documentation for clients
  • Created technical workflows and documentation for clients
  • Able to assist in setting up and configuring some environments
  • Helped to integrate ERP, CRM, PIM, ESP systems into Magento
  • Good leadership skills including coaching and managing performance
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Able to communicate deep technical concepts to non-technical staff and clients
  • Able to multi-task and thrive in a high-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong time management and delegation skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision making skills
