Sr Quality Engineer

This company is a global manufacturer of technically advanced specialty materials and complex components. Their products support diverse markets and industries such as aerospace and defense, oil & gas, electrical energy, medical, automotive, and other industrial markets.

The Sr Quality Engineer will utilize engineering talents to support new products, reduce cost, eliminate waste, and minimize opportunities for defects. They will assist the Quality Manager by supporting the Quality Management System and managing the quality process required by external suppliers. This position is the Primary Quality Representative and provides direction to Quality Engineers as needed.

What you will be doing:

  • Assist and approve other part work instructions created by others
  • Assist conducting conformance audits and approval of Internal procedures, External suppliers, and Product compliance to customer requirements
  • Participate in the investigation/resolution of product and process failures that impact customer products.
  • Generate balloon prints, inspection plans, and AS9102 forms used by others
  • Support Quality Engineers by participating and providing documentation of root cause analysis, and corrective action processes
  • Represent during audits of Quality System, procedures, product and process
  • Conduct training of personnel in conjunction with corrective action resulting from internal or external auditor findings
  • Review customer and regulatory requirements and determine and create appropriate Quality System Procedures
  • Review and participate in internal audits
  • Review and participate in Corrective and Preventative Actions
  • Resolve specification, Quality Systems, and GDT issues
  • Review and approval of manufacturing practices and work instructions
  • Obtain customer waivers/variations as required
  • Provides Company's input for customer's and/or government's specifications and drawings
  • Contributes to continuous improvement and supports 5S initiatives

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required or equivalent years’ experience
  • Possesses advanced knowledge of aerospace requirements and knowledge of flight safety hardware requirements
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal formats
  • Read and comprehend purchase order and specification requirements
  • Use and understanding of precision measuring tools
  • Method of time and project management
  • Skilled in problem-solving techniques
  • Prior experience in a teamwork environment with quality concepts of TQM and SPC
  • Prior experience as a Designated Quality Representative with multiple OEM's
