Job Description

We are looking for an individual to join our team in the position of Accountant reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager.  This individual will have the opportunity to provide knowledge and skills to improve company profitability and efficiency in this growing company. Basic duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances to ensure sufficient cash balances are available to meet expense requirements
  • Prepare standard general ledger entries by maintaining records and files and reconciling accounts
  • Review, investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Compute sales taxes owed, prepare sales tax returns and ensure prompt payment
  • Maintain capital asset tracking records and reconciling to accounting records
  • Maintain positive relationships with financial institution lenders, meeting lending requirements and requesting disbursements as applicable
  • Process ACH payments
  • Prepare quarterly and annual investor packets, as will as assist in preparing 1099s
  • Post and print all management fees and transmit to payables for payment
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines as well as complying with company policies and procedures
  • Provide leadership and encouragement to Accounting team staff members by example and sharing of knowledge and skills
  • Keep abreast of Accounting best practices and standards in accounting functions and ensuring company policies and procedures are updated to revised standards
  • Additional duties as may be assigned by your supervisor

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree with at least 2+ years proven accounting experience and proven experience utilizing an accounting software (Sage preferred)

Other skills required to be successful in this position include effective verbal and written communication skills, must be organized, detail oriented and have the ability to handle multiple priorities and possess a working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of generally accepted accounting principles.

Must be able to successfully complete a background investigation and drug test, as well as verify you are authorized to work in the U.S.
