The Hotel Colorado is hiring for a Salaried Front Desk Manager. The annual salary for this position is $45000.00 to $55000.00 DOE. This position is eligible for medical, dental and vision benefits, 401K after one year, accrued vacation time and accrued sick time and bonuses. In addition, we offer a free employee meal with each shift, a sister property rate at our sister property and use of the company ski passes to Sunlight during the season. A free bus pass is offered after 30 days of employment the type which is based on your home address. Our company has an Employee Assistance Program available to all employees and family members.

This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the operations and activities of the front desk area and staff to achieve customer satisfaction, quality service, and compliance with established procedures/policies.

The essential functions of this position are:

  • Organizes, directs, and monitors daily activities of front desk supervisors, front desk agents, bell staff, security, and night audit personnel.
  • Directs, implements, and maintains service standards.
  • Maintains complete knowledge at all times of daily house count, expected arrivals/departures, scheduled in-house group activities, all room rates, special packages and promotions; communicates information to appropriate staff.
  • Monitors guest registration, check-out, and telephone service.
  • Monitors department budget; manages expenses and labor within approved budget constraints.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains programs/processes to enhance guest satisfaction and ensure front office operations are efficient and profitable.
  • Performs front desk agent responsibilities as needed to process guests expediently including but not limited to checking guest into hotel, responding to guest questions, resolving guest problems/complaints, answering telephone, making guest reservations, and checking guests out of hotel. 80%+ of work week is performing direct front desk functions.
  • Ensures that guests' needs are fulfilled, and their stay is as pleasurable as possible; assists with dining, entertainment, or transportation reservations as needed.
  • Assists and trains front office staff with resolution of guest problems/complaints as needed.
  • Responds effectively and timely to all Guest Reviews and manages Guest Service Surveys by dispositioning complaints to appropriate managers.
  • Resolves Guest billing disputes with assistance of Front Desk Supervisors to ensue accurate final bills and prompt resolution to disputes.
  • Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of hotel services, facilities, and policies and area's attractions.
  • Prepares accurate and timely reports as required.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops front office staff; manages labor and workflow.
  • Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and safety regulations.
  • Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
  • Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
  • Occasionally required to drive hotel shuttle to assist guests.
  • Assures positions are covered if a front desk employee "calls off" including covering the employee's shift personally if needed.
