Hotel Arista is currently looking for a Personal Host who will function in a multi-capacity traditional role of Bell Person, Welcome Agent and Concierge, PBX, Reservations, In Room Dining Order Liaison and Night Auditor. The Front Office is the primary liaison between the guests and all other hotel services, and associates in this position are responsible for consistent delivery of guest requests while following company standards.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  1. Welcomes guests as they arrive and offers personal assistance throughout their visit.
  2. Acquires and relays information that personalizes the guest's stay.
  3. Creates a ritual experience around arrival and departure.
  4. Conducts guest registration and follows check-out procedures as outlined in the Standard Performance Procedures.
  5. Offers the Personal Host business card at the end of the Welcome Ritual.
  6. Fulfills traditional concierge and bell person roles.
  7. Rooms the guest by:
    • Transporting luggage to the room
    • While escorting the guest make conversation and pick up clues that will personalize the guest's stay
    • Describe all facilities and note hours of operation
    • Explain feature and functions of the guest room- i.e. nightlight, iPod docking, emergency evacuation procedures, etc.
  8. Answers Welcome Desk telephones and handles special requests, questions, complaints, and problems.
  9. Handles guests' messages and mail (if applicable).
  10. Understands applicable emergency procedure and evacuation protocol
  11. Follows credit policy and procedures of the hotel.
  12. Is familiar with all aspects of the hotel.
  13. Maintains close and harmonious working relationships with all hotel departments.
  14. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of In-Room Dining Menu to assist in taking orders and making suggestions to guests.
  15. Is fluent with Opera PMS, Guest History, Reservations, Digital Alchemy, Microsoft Outlook, and any other pertinent hotel operational technology.
  16. Transports guests and associates in company vehicles.
  17. Answers the hotel main phone line utilizing telephone etiquette skills.
  18. Provides answers to guests questions and follows through on all requests
  19. Takes In-Room Dining orders and serves guests following company standards
  20. Manages paperwork and requests as designated by Front Office Manager, Assistant Front Office Manager, and Front Office Supervisors.
  21. Maintains close and harmonious working relationships with all hotel departments.
  22. Maintains knowledge of room types and the protocol for selling rooms based on restrictions and length of stay.
  23. Offers creative and alternative suggestions to guests and sources hard-to-find items when needed
  24. Prepares and distributes morning reports and overnight audit reports to appropriate parties in a timely and accurate manner

Education

  1. High school diploma or equivalent education

Experience

  1. 1-2 years Prior hotel experience strongly preferred
  2. Background in a luxury hospitality environment or a related field is strongly preferred
  3. Background in customer service

Skills

  1. Excellent verbal and written skills
  2. Neat and clean appearance
  3. Ability to follow through impeccably on details.
  4. Great enthusiasm and passion for making people happy.
  5. Ability to work in a team environment
  6. Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work nights weekends, and holidays.
  7. Must possess a valid Driver's License and a clear motor vehicle record.

Physical Requirements

  1. Must be able to walk and stand for up to 8 hours a day, with or without reasonable accommodation
  2. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill job duties
  3. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs regularly, and up to 50 pounds on occasion
