Job Title: Full-Time In-Patient Facility Registered Nurse (Night Shift)

Location: Charlottesville, VA

Hospice of the Piedmont, nestled in the heart of Charlottesville, VA, is on the lookout for a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time In-Patient Facility Registered Nurse to join our team at The Center for Acute Hospice Care. This position primarily involves night shift duty, where you'll play a crucial role in assessing patient needs and providing exceptional nursing and supportive care. Your work will align with established care plans and organizational protocols.

Position Details:

• Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Schedule: Rotating every other weekend and holidays
• Hours: Alternating between 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next

Key Responsibilities:

As a Registered Nurse at our in-patient facility, your responsibilities include:

• Conducting initial assessments to determine patient needs.
• Completing comprehensive physical assessments and obtaining medical histories
• Initiating care plans and adapting them as patient conditions evolve
• Administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with patient care plans
• Ensuring that your patients experience the final chapter of life with the utmost quality, compassion, and dignity.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork within an interdisciplinary care setting
• Proficiency in managing all aspects of terminal care.
• The ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Coordination skills to collaborate with various health team services.
• Emotional maturity to offer compassionate support to terminally ill patients and their caregivers.
• The capability to make well-considered decisions during high stress situations.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Minimum of two years of relevant hospice experience preferred but not required
• CHPN certification (preferred)
• Experience in Home Health, ICU, or CCU (preferred)
