Position:Chief Human Resources Officer

Supervisor: Chief Executive Officer

Summary of Position:The Chief Human Resources Officer will plan, lead, direct, develop, andcoordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department,ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organizations mission and talentstrategy.Thesuccessfulcandidatewillhaveapassionforhumanresourcesandemployeeengagement.

SupervisoryResponsibilities:

  1. Overseesthedailyworkflowofthedepartment.
  2. Providesconstructiveandtimelyperformanceevaluations.
  3. Handlesdisciplineandterminationofemployeesinaccordancewithcompanypolicy.
  4. Recruits,interviews,hires,andtrainsnewstaffinthedepartment asneeded.


PositionResponsibilities:
  1. Collaborateswithseniorleadershiptounderstandtheorganizationsgoalsandstrategyrelatedto staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  2. Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training,initiatives,andsurveystosupporttheorganizationshumanresourcecomplianceandstrategyneeds whilealso aligningwith thecompany mission andvalues.
  3. Administersoroverseestheadministrationofhumanresourceprogramsincluding,butnot limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes andinvestigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, andmorale;occupational healthand safety;and trainingand development.
  4. Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiringand talent management.
  5. Conductsresearchandanalysisoforganizationaltrendsincludingreviewofreportsandmetrics from the organizations human resource information system (HRIS) or talentmanagementsystem.
  6. Monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with federal, state, and localemployment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews andmodifiespoliciesandpracticestomaintaincompliance.Completesagencysurveysasrequired.
  7. ComprehensionoftheConditionsofParticipation(COP)inhospice.ComprehensionofJointCommission Accreditation requirements.
  8. Maintainsknowledgeoftrends,bestpractices,regulatorychanges,andnewtechnologiesin human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledgetocommunicatechangesinpolicy,practice,andresourcestouppermanagement.
  9. Developsandimplementsdepartmentalbudget,controllingexpenditures.

EducationandExperience:
  1. Bachelor’sdegreeinhumanresources,BusinessAdministration,orrelatedfieldrequired;Master’sdegree preferred.
  2. Atleastfiveyearsofhumanresourcemanagementexperiencerequired.
  3. SHRM-CPorSHRM-SCPhighlypreferred.
  4. Healthcareand/orHospiceexperiencepreferred.
  5. Validdriver’slicenserequired.


PhysicalRequirements:
  1. Prolongedperiodsofsittingatadeskandworkingonacomputer.
  2. Mustbe ableto lift15 poundsat times.
  3. TravelRequirement:Traveltoothersitesasneeded.Travelmaybeininclementweather.
