Immediate full-time opening for a compassionate individual with a heart for serving our neighbors in need!  The Food & Basic Needs Operations Coordinator position is ideal for an organized and compassionate people-person who enjoys a busy environment, is adept at coordinating logistics, and loves to interact with diverse groups of clients, staff, and volunteers. 

Full-time position works Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm with a half hour lunch and offers an excellent benefit package, including paid time off and a generous paid holiday schedule.  


The Hope Clinic is a non-denominational Christian social and medical service provider. The Food Operations Coordinator will regularly work with clients of diverse backgrounds and needs, as well as volunteers in a range of ages and competencies, including religious groups and school groups. The environment is busy and full of opportunities to assist and care for other people. 


The mission of the food program is to provide all community members with easy access to nutritional food, seven days per week, through a variety of free services including:


  • Food Pantry
  • Farm Stand
  • Grocery Delivery
  • Evening Hot Meal Service
  • Emergency Food Needs


Reporting to the Food & Basic Needs Program Manager, the Coordinator manages a complex schedule of programs and volunteers to ensure that all food assistance programs run smoothly.  Primary responsibilities include:


  • Supervision of a high volume of volunteers serving in various roles
  • Communicating with and coordinating volunteer meals teams
  • Responding to donation and volunteer inquiries
  • Ensuring a consistently positive experience for clients and volunteers, and acting as a bridge to other services
  • Modeling and communicating program community standards of respectful, courteous, and safe behavior
  • Training volunteers on ServSafe food safety procedures
  • Managing inventory of supplies and weekly orders
  • Building a culture of dignity and compassion among volunteers and clients, reflecting the guiding principles of Hope Clinic

Requirements include HS diploma or GED, plus proven experience coordinating high-volume volunteer schedules in a fast-paced setting.  To be successful in this critical role, the ideal candidate will possess a calm demeanor and the ability to remain patient and respectful in challenging situations.  Strong communication skills a must, with the ability to comfortably and sensitively interact with individuals of diverse backgrounds and varying levels of English proficiency.  Reliability, punctuality, and flexibility to manage volunteer and program schedules required.  Most importantly, the successful candidate will embrace and reflect the mission to “Multiply Hope”, empowering others to live generous lives and creating opportunities for help and healing.
