This intricate cabana-focused garden and event space serving position offers $5.35/hr, plus generous tips! A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN SERVER

You arrive for each of your scheduled shifts ready to provide your guests with a Wow! Experience that matches the theme of the garden space. You could be surrounded by Banyan trees with monkeys hanging from them or Ski Chalets straight out of Switzerland. The cocktails you will be selling have themed names to go along with the theme of the garden, and there are always unique touches that you can add on to your sales to increase your guest's experience while adding to your bottom line.

Using your charming and confident personality, you make our guests feel welcome as you accurately complete credit transactions. You are able to learn our menu of drink offerings quickly in order to provide excellent suggestions to guests, and have good salesmanship abilities with Food and in speaking about upcoming events and experiences at the Hall. You have a keen eye and are able to communicate effectively with fellow crew members and managers about things that don't look right either in the venue or on a bill. You are able to juggle multiple tabs at one time in Toast so that guest's checks are accurate. You are a team player and understand that mindset = success or failure.

SERVER QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant server experience
• Working knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits
• Inventory management skills
• Ability to learn our Point of Sale (POS) system
• Flexible availability

ABOUT HOOK HALL

Situated in the heart of Washington, DC, Hook Hall is not your traditional tavern and event space. It is a place our guests go to enjoy a cold beer and catch up with friends, or experience an immersive themed Cabana. It's a space designed to transform and transition throughout the day. If you love each day being different with a lot of creative promoted experiences throughout the week, you will love Hook Hall. One day we could be partnering with a local Cornhole League and holding a Trivia night. The next we will have live music in our garden in the early evening and a DJ inside the Hall at night. The day after that, a 500 person corporate party inside the Hall while 3 birthday parties are happening out in the cabanas in the garden.
