Do you want to join an elite team of professionals? Hood Industries is seeking an Industrial Electrician at our lumber manufacturing operation in Silver Creek, MS. The ideal candidate must have experience with motor control circuits, pneumatic valves & cylinders, knowledge of conduit bending, wiring motors, hydraulic valves and cylinder relay circuits, DC & AC drives, limit & proximity switches, and other field devices. AB controls and PLC experience is highly preferred.
Hood Industries, Inc. is a blend of wood manufacturing and distribution centers that include two plywood and four lumber manufacturing plants, and fifteen specialty wood product distribution operations, located in fourteen states serving the northeast, southeast and southwest United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on equipment leading to increased up-time and reliability thus helping the facility to meet their production and quality goals.
- Required to have a thorough understanding of safe work practices, troubleshooting and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
- Responding to all electrical and instrumentation issues.
- Adhering to all mill safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participating in the safety program.
- Extensive experience with 3-phase motors.
- Effectively collaborating with other team members.
- Work overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays when needed.
- Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical equipment.
- Experience with programming of VFD, Allen Bradley software.
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLCs.
- Confident using hand tools and test equipment.

- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
Required Education and/or Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician.
- High School Diploma or GED required, Associates Degree or technical training preferred.
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
