Provide mechanical design expertise and coordinate full product lifecycle engineering solutions for Key Mechanical Equipment (KME) product lines. You will join the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Skill Center (MMESC) within the Engineering department in UOP's Petrochemical & Refining Technologies (PRT) to be a mechanical engineering liason to KME for reactor internals and other product lines across multiple technologies. You will apply your diverse technical and organizational expertise to coordinate with KME to provide sales support, mechanical design, inspection and installation support, and continuous product improvement for assigned technologies.
-Act as the primary single point technical contact providing mechanical design support throughout the full product lifecycle for KME products.
-Build and apply your technical and leadership expertise through coaching others and working directly with internal mechanical specialists and KME fabrication partners.
-Contribute to new product development and continuous improvement of existing products and work processes.
60% - Preparation of mechanical design package (layout, analysis, specifications, etc.) for customer projects
20% - KME product line support (sales support, vendor interaction, infrastructure development/maintenance, troubleshooting, etc.)
10% - Shop/field inspection and installation support
10% - Innovation & new product development
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
An advanced technical degree and/or registration as a professional engineer is considered a plus.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and ability to multi-task.
Conveys information with clarity and directness, ensuring the message is understood across diverse, global teams.
Some experience in the design, development and troubleshooting of equipment in the refining, petrochemical, gas processing or similar industry.
A working knowledge of pressure vessel and piping design/analysis as well as inspection, testing, fabrication and construction techniques.
Demonstrated ability to go from concept to design specifications/drawings and equipment requisitions for pressure vessels, internals, and piping components.
An understanding of industry codes (ASME, API, etc.) for pressure vessels or other process equipment. Specific familiarity with applicable UOP standards is a plus.
