Addington Place of East Paris senior living facility in Grand Rapids is hiring a Director of Nursing to work full time with our seniors. The nurse is an essential member of the team. The LPN/RN DON will be responsible to oversee the general care of the residents regarding health, behavioral and medication administration issues.
The nurse is a leader and role model to all staff on how to properly care for the residents during all aspects of their lives. You will be responsible to maintain the resident records in a complete and current manner EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: Maintains current state license as an LPN or Registered Nurse per state regulations Experience in assisted living, home health or long-term care industries A minimum of two (2) years--- experience as an LPN or Registered Nurse Demonstration of competence in assessment skills, injections/medication administration, follow up and triage Minimum one (1) year nursing management experience including hiring staff, coaching, performance management daily operations supervision, discipline and counseling Ability to delegate assignments to the appropriate individuals based on their skills, roles and interests Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication and the ability to facilitate small group presentations Competent in organizational, time management skills Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills Ability to work weekends, evenings & flexible hours as needed for resident care/services, must be available to our customers at peak service times and as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Ensures that community follows all federal, state, local laws and regulations and standards as it pertains to resident clinical care Identifies on-going needs and services of residents through the assessment/Service Plan process Ensures proper follow through and documentation for residents with a change in health care status Responsible for clinical compliance of clinical expectations as well as other regulatory compliance Participation in community awareness activities and community relations Maintains communications with resident---s family and responsible party Responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting clinical indicators monthly and if necessary, develop/implement improvement plans Partners with leadership team to ensure community is in compliance with Risk Management and OSHA requirements Partners with pharmacy consultant to provide optimal pharmaceutical services to residents Responsible for infection control programming in community Responsible for the safe and efficient distribution/administration of injections, nebulizers, moderate wound care per state regulations Overall management of the department, including, but not limited to: recruiting, hiring, training, coaching and disciplining Conducts timely performance appraisals with meaningful conversations Holds critical team accountable, corrects actions when necessary and documents Attends regular meetings Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 3 - 5 years Bonus/Commission: No
