OUR ACCOUNTING & FINANCE TEAM
Our Accounting & Finance Team is comprised of six highly skilled professionals who are responsible for tracking and managing Homes for Good's financial resources. This includes recording all financial transactions, preparing financial statements and reporting financial information to the Executive Director and other leaders. The team also plays a key role in ensuring that the organization complies with applicable financial regulations, funding requirements and best practices.
WHAT YOU WILL DO FOR OUR TEAM
The Accounting & Finance Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands on accounting experience and to practice applying their skills in a professional setting by supporting Homes for Good's team with a variety of projects with a focus on preparing for an accounting software migration.
DURATION & COMPENSATION
The internship will run for 10-12 weeks over the summer. Start and end dates are flexible based on the intern's schedule and academic and/or professional obligations. This is a paid internship opportunity with a pay rate of $14.20 per hour. The Intern will be scheduled approximately 10 hours per week.

- Assist with administrative accounts payable duties
- Update debarred and approved vendor list
- Trend reporting for categorized expenses
- Creating and executing naming conventions for permanent files
- Organizing document archives
- Perform other appropriate duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The Accounting & Finance Internship is designed for someone who is in pursuit of an accounting certificate or degree program.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Research, writing and presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Organization skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
- Growth mindset and willingness to learn
- Proficiency in word processing software
- Comfort working in a hybrid work environment
