Job Description

Duties/Responsibilities

· Staff and develop and manage a high quality team. Build a culture of excellence. Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees.

· Successfully execute the daily production schedule developed by the planning/scheduling function meeting on-time, undamaged and complete shipment requirements.

· Analyze performance and proactively intervene to meet or exceed budget and KPIs including labor, machine and material efficiency / usage.

· Manage plant floor layouts and work cell designs to optimize space, work flow, 5S, production values and safety. Make recommendations for policy and process improvements.

· Respond and resolve daily issues including material outages, machine downtime, operator performance and scheduling.

· Set high standards for quality, safety and service. Manage these items to meet Company objectives.

· Maintain and continuously improve business processes for quality, safety, manufacturing. Monitor WIP inventory to ensure proper levels.

· Ensure that production reporting is done accurately for the department.

· Partner with Human Resources to resolve safety, labor and employee relations matters.

· Work closely with sales/marketing regarding the production of samples.

· Work closely with Product Development and Engineering to ensure a smooth introduction of new products to the plant.

· These and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Fluent in Spanish (Bilingual with Spanish a plus)

· Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering or related field. Master’s preferred.

· 8-10 years progressive operations experience with 5+ years in management role.

· Strong knowledge of and recent experience in injection molding

· Experience with 5S, Lean, Visual Shop Floor Management, Sigma preferred

· Expertise in tooling, mold design, mold troubleshooting, maintenance and repair.

· Experience with various plastics resins (polypropylene), colorants and additives such as nucleating agents and impact modifiers.

· Must be able to provide leadership in a fast-paced, stressful 24/7/365 operation based on 12-hours shifts.

· Strong ability to relate and communicate with floor personnel effectively
