We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Cloud Operations Engineer who will be highly skilled and can work independently. They will be responsible for supporting and maintaining a large multi-account AWS and on-premise data center environments, writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and supporting DevOps team in their projects. The candidate must have strong communication skills. We are migrating all our systems to AWS and projects range from simple AWS tasks to very complex modernization projects. Most importantly, the candidate will have a strong passion and aptitude for learning new skills.

Essential Job Duties
  • Assist in maintaining a large multi-account AWS infrastructure
  • Monitoring and performing on-going maintenance on servers and network equipment.
  • Providing IT support to staff and customers, as well as responding to the server and network issues.
  • Manage troubleshooting and resolve critical technical issues within the data center and cloud environments.
  • Installation, support and decommissioning of rack servers, storage systems and network equipment
  • Coordinate with other teams to meet goals and deadlines
  • Improve the monitoring system
  • Troubleshoot issues and solve problems where needed
  • Identify and implement changes to optimize system performance
  • Assist DevOps team in their large infrastructure projects
  • Design and develop cloud operation solutions that benefit all engineering teams (AWS VPN, Workspace)
  • Eager to learn and implement new solutions on AWS

Travel Requirements

☒ Travel up to 10%, including overnight travel

Required Education, Experience, Certifications and Skills
  • Experience managing data center environments
  • Expertise in one major cloud vendor, AWS strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of data center environments, servers, and network equipment.
  • Extensive experience in installing, monitoring, and maintaining data center equipment.
  • Strong system engineering background
  • Expert Knowledge of various operating systems Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS), Windows Server
  • Familiarity with scripting languages, Bash, Python
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as code concepts, (IaC), Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket)
  • Familiarity with identity management and permission control (LDAP, Active Directory, IAM)
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (Subnetting, VLAN, NAT) and high-level AWS networking knowledge (TGW, VPC Peering, Flow Logs, VPG)
  • Understanding of different storage systems
  • Familiarity with cost control on cloud (FinOps)
  • Ability to implement design patterns for distributed systems
  • Solid understanding of hybrid cloud environments
  • Comfortable collaborating with team-mates working from around the globe
  • Willingness to respond to network and server issues after hours
  • Technical certifications (AWS Solution Architect Associate or Professional) preferred


The base salary range for this US-based, full-time, and exempt position is $110K-$140K, not including variable compensation. An employee’s exact starting salary will be based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, merit, location, and the ability to exemplify the HHAeXchange core values.
