Job Description

Job Summary:   Work with an engagement team to provide quality forensic, business valuation and litigation support services to internal and external clients and perform economic damage calculations and financial analysis under supervision of experienced staff.  In addition, provide consulting assistance to the wider HT Advisory Services team while actively maintaining the firm’s core values HT3 and service standards.

Business Valuation Functions

  • Prepare information requests in accordance with business valuation standards
  • Input financial statement data and build and check financial valuation models in Excel
  • Evaluate and develop valuation premiums and discounts
  • Draft and edit valuation report narratives and supporting appendices
  • Analyze business organizational documents to determine control and marketability features
  • Conduct subject company research and valuation database research
  • Research business valuation case law for applicability in valuation assignments

 

Litigation Support Functions

  • Organize electronic and hard copy files for efficient retrieval and discovery purposes
  • Input financial statement and personal earnings data into Excel to conduct detailed financial analysis
  • Build and check economic damages models
  • Replicate opposing expert damages and valuation calculations
  • Read and summarize deposition transcripts
  • Research case specific industry and economic information
  • Create memos memorializing telephone conference and meeting information

 

Forensic Services Functions

  • Organize electronic and hard copy files for efficient retrieval purposes
  • Input financial statement and personal earnings data into Excel to conduct detailed forensic analysis
  • Participate in forensic interviews

Administrative Functions

  • Participate in regular workload scheduling meetings

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or economics
  • 2 – 4 years of previous business valuation and/or litigation support experience, or commensurate experience in a related field such as auditing or data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to focus on multiple projects and meet sometimes competing deadlines
  • Proficiency in use of computers and basic software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Accuracy in data input and quantitative analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certificate or willingness to sit for the CPA exam
  • CFE, ABV, ASA, CFA, and/or CVA professional designation(s), or willingness to work towards these designations
  • Business valuation, litigation support, and/or forensic investigation experience, or experience in a related field such as auditing or data analysis

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee will regularly be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, drive, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
