Job Description

Job Description: The Houseman/Maid is primarily responsible for cleaning vacant family housing units or bachelor housing that are going through a change of occupancy maintenance (COM). Specific requirements identified by the Government on a COMs checklist will be followed and inspected by a company Quality Specialist and Government inspector before the unit is accepted by the Government for issue to an incoming resident. Additional clean service may be required as a result of service call actions or shortages in janitorial staff

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cleans toilets, sinks, tubs and showers in bathrooms
  • Dusts and cleans blinds, windows, furniture and other surfaces
  • Checks and replaces light bulbs as necessary
  • Cleans stoves, microwaves, refrigerators, dishwashers, laundry washers and dryers
  • Mops floors and uses a floor scrubber periodically
  • Provides fresh towels and linens to guests
  • Sorts, counts and folds towels and linens
  • Turns mattresses as needed
  • Changes linens and blankets on beds
  • Removes trash daily from rooms
  • Cleans common areas such as isles, hallways and lobbies
  • Reports any damage or missing items and submits maintenance requests
  • Sets up, attends, and cleans up after resident functions (food, tables, kitchen areas etc.)
  • Ensures proper housekeeping practices are strictly observed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to organize work in order to complete all room assignments on a daily basis
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Ability to comprehend, read, and write basic English
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner

Job Educational, Experiences and Professional Associations Requirements

  • Housekeeping experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Customer Service experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Guam driver's license.
