Job Description
We're seeking a designer to take ownership over our mobile and web products. You'll be in charge of taking ideas at their earliest stages and converting them to hi-fidelity mockups that are ready to build. This is a unique role, where you won't just be designing and optimizing for a single part of our product, but having to own and design for multiple products areas such as our riders, drivers, and internal team members.
What you'll do at Hitch
- Contribute to overall strategy and decision-making about product direction
- Help deliver and refine clear storytelling around product needs and opportunities
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, graphic design and the management team
- Create, collaborate, and iterate on flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals
- Design for various sides of our marketplace: Riders, Drivers and Hitch Employees (Internal tools)
- Build and expand on our design system
Example of projects you could work on
- Rebuild aspects of the booking flow to make the product hierarchy more clear
- Build the in-drive experience for drivers when they're on a ride
- Work to make our internal driver review tool more efficient, allowing team members to triage applications faster
Requirements
- Expert in Figma
- High EQ: Strong customer empathy; you think critically of how our features impact our community, users, and firm
- High IQ: Able to autonomously create novel approaches to complex, unsolved problems and communicate them effectively to nontechnical audiences
- Working knowledge of web technologies and large-scale web application & front-end architectures
- Proven excellence in the use of inquiry and active listening to refine roadmaps, requirements & designs
