Job Description

The Hiller Companies, Inc. is a national leader in the fire protection and security industry and has an immediate opening for a Fire Alarm Sales Representative/Estimator in our Chesapeake, VA office.

Job Summary:

Network with Electrical Contractor community to obtain quote opportunities for Fire Alarm for projects that they are bidding. Perform take offs, prepare estimate and proposal and submit to Electrical Contractors who are bidding respective projects. Follow up on all quote opportunities. Perform turn over on sold projects working with our Engineering and Production teams to insure a smooth transfer of information.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Create and execute a weekly customer call plan, partnering with Manager on targets and strategy
  • Respond to all sales leads in a timely matter
  • Team with sales team members on fire alarm opportunities for end users as needed
  • Perform cold calls to prospective customers not currently doing business with Hiller
  • Follow up on previously submitted quotes with visits or calls to secure the business, overcoming customer objections, issues, or concerns as necessary
  • Verify accurate customer contact information and equipment information for clients & projects
  • Coordinate with Design and Production teams to a smooth transfer of information from bid phase to project performance
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the Hiller technicians and office staff to facilitate effective communications and exceptional customer service
  • Continually learn all aspects of all products, programs, and services offered by Hiller

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma/GED required. Some college preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of Fire Alarm Industry specific experience is required
  • Previous B2B sales experience a plus!
  • Must be computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office programs
  • Must be an effective relationship builder with good interpersonal skills to work with customers and the Hiller team
  • Must be organized and self-motivated, with a sense of urgency in responding to messages and requests

  • Must have clean driving record and a dependable vehicle
