HERFF JONES, Master Planner Scheduler – Warwick, RI Your Opportunity: The Herff Jones team is looking for a Master Planner Scheduler to join our team in Warwick, RI. Here's How You’ll Make an Impact: As a master planner/scheduler you will be responsible for scheduling multiple work centers within a production area to achieve on-time delivery targets while positioning the production departments to achieve maximum production efficiencies. You will also be responsible for providing the organization with a weekly production plan consistent with the plant capacity and sales forecast. The planner is responsible for determining the desired inventory levels for finished goods, including safety stock levels. As the coordinator between sales and operations, this role takes into consideration sales forecasts, new business opportunities, customer expectations, and internal supply constraints to develop production plans. Play a key role in improving the process for setting and maintaining product standard costs. This includes understanding the operation and products to determine costs drivers. · Create rough cut capacity plans and execute the master production schedule · Provide daily and weekly detailed work center schedules to allow successful schedule adherence at each work center. · Create scheduling rules for all work centers within the plant. · Prepare plant for ERP, implementing best practices around MRP. As we see it for right now, however, here are the challenges that we want you to tackle: · Responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring products throughout the entire production cycle. · Reviews, refines, and develops scheduling rules and SOP’s to achieve Plant service level commitments. · Works cross functionally with all Plant departments to maintain accountability. · Directly overseas all production control and outsourcing coordination employees/activities. · Works with Operations to monitor production output against customer requirements · Attends daily gemba walks with production floor leaders · Maintains top level customer requirements to drive total manufacturing requirements · Conducts regular business and performance reviews with Demand Planning, Sales and Operations, including participation in S&OP processes · Monitors supply and demand through delivery season status against the master schedule and takes action to protect both the internal build plan and the customer ship/delivery plan against stockouts, downtime, and other impediments to the schedule · Takes the lead to involve appropriate personnel to resolve material and capacity issues; calling out significant conflicts to management’s attention when master scheduling issues are likely to impact the internal build plan or customer delivery plan · Responsible for overall master data maintenance in systems associated with supply planning such as lead times, transportation times, sourcing information, safety stocks, min/max levels, etc. What You’ll Bring to the Table: · Experience in scheduling and planning without ERP and MRP systems. · Experience with ERP systems is highly preferred, specifically Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365, as well as Microsoft Excel · Experience with S&OP, MRP, and MPS processes highly preferred · Experience in highly seasonal planning and manufacturing is preferred · American Production Inventory Control System (APICS) and or Six Sigma certification is preferred · Good interpersonal, organizational, analytical and communication skills · Well-organized, be able to multi-task and have a high level of attention to detail · Customer service driven, able to understand and support the business goals and objectives · Interface and interact well with all departments of the company, and is an ambassador for planning in a seasonal environment THE MOST TRUSTED NAME IN CELEBRATING STUDENT MILESTONES – HERFF JONESHerff Jones is the leading provider of graduation and educational products and services designed to inspire achievement and create memorable experiences for students. Position Summary: The Diploma Data Entry Associate is an important part of the team that supports high schools, colleges and other educational institutions (customers). As a member of the Data Entry Team, you will be responsible for daily review of orders from customers, Herff Jones sales representatives and delivered through our diploma portal. Preparing the orders with accurate information to prevent changes is a primary function of this role. The data entry step is the first of many to produce a high-quality production our manufacturing environment in the most efficient and timely manner for our customers. The position requires a critical thinker with strong basic math skills. Accuracy, attention to order detail and the ability to type efficiently are all expectations of the role to enable the manufacturing plant to work efficiently and serve our customers. Full-time or seasonal roles are available. The typical working hours are Monday through Friday for 8 hours. Some overtime may be needed and/or required during peak season which may include Saturdays. What we want you to accomplish: Review daily orders and prioritize the order entry process Gather and input student information into our manufacturing software, Oracle Verify and double check each order for order accuracy and completion other numerical details.
