The Herff Jones Corporate team is looking for a Corporate Buyer to join our team in Indianapolis, IN
Here's How You’ll Make an Impact:
The corporate buyer will be responsible for contributing to and executing the corporate strategy for procurement of indirect materials & services into the corporate entity. The position is responsible for driving efficiencies and cost savings through creating and executing sound purchasing practices, standardization of process and vendor management. Coordinating closely with department managers, this person will support procurement efforts by developing strong relationships, efficient purchasing procedures, thorough record keeping, process development and the creation and reporting of KPI’s to leadership. This role will play a key role in improving the process for setting and maintaining product standard costs. This includes understanding the operation and products to determine costs drivers.

- Manage day to day activities for corporate service programs like Concur Travel and Amazon Business.
- Collaborate to create and manage corporate requisition, PO and contracting process to include record maintenance
- Participate as corp. purchasing team member on MS Dynamics implementation
- Help to create corporate purchasing guidelines and corporate purchasing manual
- Work with corporate departments to train department staffs on purchasing policies
- Develop the consolidation of currently uncaptured indirect spend across the corporate entity
- Manage assigned purchasing categories focused on corporate activities
- Manage and administer multiple purchasing relationships and systems
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with vendors
- Manage multiple purchasing/sourcing projects simultaneously
- Manage the day to day requisition, PO, Contracting activities for Corp purchasing department.
- Support corporate KPI reporting activities
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
- 1-2 years purchasing or supply chain management with experience in indirect material and services sourcing.
- Must be an attention to details person
- Knowledge of procurement best practices and principles
- Demonstrated upper level skills in Excel and Word
- Excellent communication skills—verbal and written—and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong people and management skills to interact with suppliers and corporate departments alike

The Diploma Data Entry Associate is an important part of the team that supports high schools, colleges and other educational institutions (customers). As a member of the Data Entry Team, you will be responsible for daily review of orders from customers, Herff Jones sales representatives and delivered through our diploma portal. Preparing the orders with accurate information to prevent changes is a primary function of this role. The data entry step is the first of many to produce a high-quality production our manufacturing environment in the most efficient and timely manner for our customers.
The position requires a critical thinker with strong basic math skills. Accuracy, attention to order detail and the ability to type efficiently are all expectations of the role to enable the manufacturing plant to work efficiently and serve our customers.
Full-time or seasonal roles are available.
The typical working hours are Monday through Friday for 8 hours.
Some overtime may be needed and/or required during peak season which may include Saturdays.
What we want you to accomplish:
Review daily orders and prioritize the order entry process
Gather and input student information into our manufacturing software, Oracle
Verify and double check each order for order accuracy and completion other numerical details.
Rate of accuracy at 95% or better after 2 weeks of training with full trainer audit
Rate of accuracy at 99% after 4 weeks of full review
Review the order details provided by the account manager against the prepared package content before the product ships to our customer
Success Indicators and Skills:
Ability to operate a personal computer in a Windows environment
Familiarity with applications such as Word, Excel and Internet Explorer
Previous experience working with an ERP system such as Oracle is preferred
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to notice errors and discrepancies
Ability to locate files and familiarity with filing skills
Strong math skills with the ability to work a calculator
Demonstrated success managing multiple processes and tasks at a time with strong organizational and detail skill
A positive attitude with a focus on the learning the complete product cycle to better service the customer (schools and administrators) and field sales representatives
Education / Certifications Required:
High School Degree or GED
Daily activity includes but is not limited to reading, lifting, carrying, sitting, fingering, grasping, reaching
Use of a step ladder to retrieve customer files as needed
Being able to sit for long periods of time
Ability to work alone in a quite environment
