Job Purpose / Summary:

This position ensures that the accounting processes of the company are run efficiently, effectively, and accurately. Process responsibilities include cash management, production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an organized system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and standards.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • In concert with the company’s Strategic and Annual Operating Plan, assists in preparation of budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; and recommending opportunities for enhanced value creation.
  • Maximizes return on financial assets by assisting with the establishment of financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
  • In concert with the CFO, helps guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Assists in protecting assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition and assists CFO with the HMC Titan Holdings annual audit and tax procedural interface with corporate accounting and/or outside auditors and tax professionals.
  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Prepares special reports for CFO and other executives by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
  • In concert with the growth needs of the organization, maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Develops and motivates financial staff to maximize job results by coaching, counseling, planning, monitoring, and appraising job performance. 
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Ensures Working Capital Elements are maintained according to planned objectives, i.e. continuous improvement in management of Inventory, Receivables and Payables.
  • Ensures quality in Risk Management, Insurance Management and Property and Casualty processes.
  • Assists with maintaining banking relationships, bank recs and cash management processes.
  • Ensures IT platform meets requirements, enabling timely and reliable information exchange. Manages key service provider relationships.
  • Manages core HR Processes, such as OSHA Safety Program, Payroll, 401(K) Plan, Health and other insurance benefits, Employee Transition records.

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting/finance with exposure to HR
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Experience in working in a small, entrepreneurial enterprise 
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards. 
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak English clearly on the telephone.
